Biomechanics for Posture and Injury Prevention

What to expect:

Students will learn facets of biomechanics including:

  • What ‘posture’ actually means
  • What factors play into having ‘good’ or ‘bad’ posture
  • How posture affects movement and performance
  • How to make corrections to posture:
    • To decrease pain
    • To increase performance in sports (and life)
    • To decrease injury

Format:

Lecture & Discussion (50%)

Exercises and physical assessments (50%)

Space/AV Requirements:

Space: This certification can be delivered in a regular classroom, library, or gym space. Mats for the floor would be ideal but not necessary.

AV requirements: Screen to hook up laptop, internet connection.
